If there seems to be a constant in Teshigahara’s films that is the creation of a world in which all the characters who wander by him are selfish, primitive and worthless. Perhaps to escape the idea more despicable is the protagonist of The Woman in the dunes, but in The Face of Another and Pitfall this is clearly fulfilled.

Teshigahara’s pulse after the camera is a true genius, and despite the shortcomings of the film in terms of script and get others to erect a monument worthy enough. It is worth giving a chance to admire the director’s mastery of his work and begin to explore a tremendously interesting artist.
